OpenAI, everything goes back to how it was before (or almost): Sam Altman CEO again

by Brad

Altman’s reinstatement at openAI triggers transformative changes.
Accordingly, Sam Altman is back in his position as CEO for OpenAI. Although there appears to be little change that has been happening, the current OpenAI is as different as two weeks ago where Altman was fired and joined Microsoft. Microsoft is getting more and more important as the center of power in the company is changing. Today, all members in the board will fully support the research by generative artificial intelligence and its leader, Altman, as well.

Leadership Reinstated: Muraiti (CTO) and Mr. Altman (CEO).
In the end, Altman retakes the former function’s post and is now accompanied with Mira Murati who has been appointed CTO. The new board includes Bret Taylor as President, Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo who heads at Quora.

Recently, Altman wrote an open letter to employees in which he restated his dedication to the organization. He reveals that a Microsoft representative will sit in the board as a non-voting party. The “new” CEO outlines future objectives:

Advance Research Plans: Put increased emphasis on safety while prioritising research.
Enhance Products and Customer Relations: Relationships with individuals, customers (governments and other partners).
Governance Improvement: Improve governance and do an audit trail on what has happened lately.

Stability and Governance Focus
The board chairman is none other than Bret Taylor who also embraces organizational stability and governance. His objective is to develop a “qualified and diverse” board which can address AI in all of its facets, namely technological, security and political factors. This attempt will lead towards multidisciplinary approach in handling the issues and possibilities of artificial intelligence.
